My favorite restaurant: is it worth it?
Hello friends!
I recently wrote about my favorite restaurant, Revel. Click here to check it out.
I was fortunate enough to attend Revel at the expense of someone else. The question I want to answer is … was the meal worth the money? I can only answer this from a poor college student's perspective. If a meal is good enough to appreciate on a budget, it proves the quality of the food. To me, this is the best way to answer the question: “is it worth it?”
With that in mind, is Revel worth the money? My meal consisted of the kimchi pancake, Chinese broccoli, pork wontons, and the Dungeness crab noodle. The kimchi pancake, Chinese broccoli, and pork wontons were shareable items for the table. However, it was a big part of my meal and my experience. According to the summer 2022 menu, the total cost of my meal, including the sharable items was $65 before the tip.
To do this restaurant on a budget, it would be wise to limit the amount of sharable items. To truly experience the full effect of this restaurant I believe the short-rib wontons are a must, as well as the Dungeness crab noodle. My ideal budget meal for a date with two people would be the kimchi pancake, short-rib wontons, and one Dungeness crab noodle. I believe if you share those items between two people you can experience the joy of Revel without breaking the bank. This would still be $26.5 per person; however, I believe Revel is worth the extra money.
This restaurant can be done on a budget. Take advantage of that. If you have the extra money, go all out and enjoy as much of the menu as possible. If you have the chance to splurge on a meal, choose Revel. This experience is worth it for any foodie.
